My SAP

SAP server consists of 3 components -

Presentation Server - A Interface called SAPGui is installed in all the client system
which will need to access the Application Server.

Presentation Server takes 5 mins to install.

Application Server - There can be Multiple Application Server to share the Load.
Something called Message Service which needs to be running to share the
load among different Application Servers.

Application Servers takes 2 hrs for Installation.

Database Server - There can be only one DATABASE Server Insatalled
The Application servers will communicate with the centrally located Database Server.
You can have Mirroring etc. but can not have multiple database servers.

Database Server installation takes around 18-20 hrs.

SAP Management Console can be accessed via SAPMMC in RUN Prompt.

For Creating Users in SAP

- Login to Presentation server with Super User.

- Type command su01 to Create Users

- In the Profiles add SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW

SAP_ALL - Replicates all changes made to SAP database till the time the user was created.
Any changes made after that will not be shown to User.

SAP_NEW - will update the changes made till date in SAP database for the User.
